How to determine the speed and production efficiency of an assembly line
The speed of the assembly line is determined by calculating the number of workstations based on the length of the assembly line, and then determining the production takt time based on the duration required for each process step of the assembly line. Of course, assembly lines with long operation times can be split to ensure that each workstation has the same workload and operation time.

Determination of production efficiency of assembly line
Standard working hours on the assembly line: Refers to the effective operational time that directly affects the completion of the finished product, from the start of processing parts to the end of producing the finished product, under normal circumstances. It includes both direct and indirect working hours. That is, the sum of effective operating time at all workstations for processing each product (set).
Method for establishing standard working hours for assembly lines: Measure all effective working hours of each existing workstation (for skilled workers), and calculate the standard working hours by considering factors such as the balance of production in the workshop, the impact of the environment on workers, and information about workers' fatigue during production, based on the working hours of all processing stations that make up the product.
Direct working hours: refers to the working hours of personnel engaged in direct operations;
Indirect working hours: refers to the working hours of personnel who are responsible for the necessary management and auxiliary tasks of on-site direct operation workers, excluding the workshop director and direct operation personnel, based on the characteristics of the current workshop management organization;
Standard manpower: Refers to the reasonable number of personnel allocated by a production unit based on standard working hours and actual production conditions, under the premise of a set production target.
Production efficiency: Actual output × standard working hours; Actual manpower × 8.00 hours - production downtime + overtime hours
Assembly line is a production method in industry, where each production unit focuses on handling a specific segment of work, aiming to improve work efficiency and output. According to the conveying method of the assembly line, it can be broadly divided into seven types: belt assembly line, plate chain assembly line, double-speed chain assembly line, plug-in assembly line, mesh belt assembly line, suspended assembly line, and roller assembly line.
